Founded by Natalie and Feild Patten, Patten Custom Homes is one of the premier Custom Home Builders in Dallas, Texas.

Natalie and Feild are lifelong Dallas residents who grew up together and went to high school at Lake Highlands High School. Natalie and Feild strive to build each and every home as if they were moving in, and sometimes they do! PCH strives to build a work of art that is in turn a home. PCH specializes in ground up construction throughout the DFW Metroplex including, but not limited to, Lakewood, M Streets, Park Cities, Preston Hollow and Lake Highlands.

The Principals of “PCH”

Natalie Patten

Born and raised in Dallas, Natalie came back to her hometown after graduating from TCU and after a few summer adventures in Los Angeles where she lived and worked on various movies and television series(anyone remember “The OC”?!) Natalie knew her dream was to settle and raise a family in Dallas one day and that’s just what she did after she reconnected with a close friend from high school, Feild(as in her partner of PCH!). They married a few years after graduating college and travelled the world together for 3 months after their wedding before settling down and having their four children(Langley, Reese, Brooks & Madison). Natalie’s journey into home building started with her love of design and redesign. She obtained her real estate license with the plan to use her real estate knowledge to know how to evaluate a smart purchase to remodel for resale. She started her first company, Redesign Interiors LLC, where she would take a home that no one else wanted or saw any beauty in and would turn it into the home everyone fought to own. Her redesign and remodel business was a success for years. She considers that time her “degree in home building” and admits that a remodel is often more challenging than a new build. She would not just switch out counters or tile, but take the home to the studs(just framing) and relocate plumbing and walls. It was as extensive as it gets in remodeling and she would often add square feet off the back or top. She didn’t see the business behind the work she did, but her husband sure did. Feild knew she had started something special from the relationships she had created with her trades to the material selections and knowledge she gained from experience in the field. Feild helped turn her passion and love into a full-fledge client-service business and create what Patten Custom Homes is today. Natalie now enjoys guiding her clients through the home building process, starting with assisting during the architecture process to make sure her clients stay in budget and get exactly what they’re hoping for in a home, all the way to hardware selections. Although Natalie is more “behind the scenes”, you will see her on site often making sure all those details that often go missed are not forgotten! In addition to assisting her clients during building their dream home, Natalie also enjoys leading and designing the company’s speculative builds.

Born and raised in Dallas, Feild attended Furman University in South Carolina where he spent his days exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains fly fishing and camping. Feild has a very diverse work experience. Feild worked as a fly fishing guide in Alaska, managed a commercial real estate portfolio(Feild has a real estate license), and for many years, worked as an Asset Manager managing over 5,000 real estate assets with a net portfolio value of over $700MM. With the success Natalie was having with PCH, Feild transitioned over to PCH full time to work alongside Natalie to grow the thriving business. On a day to day basis, Feild does a bit of everything. We always tell our clients: “Feild deals with the city inspectors (he loves chatting them up), the foundation, the framing, the roof, the plumbing top out, the electrical rough, the mechanical rough, the fireplace construction, the masonry, and the insulation.” In essence, Feild deals with the the nuts and bolts of the structure to make sure its built to PCH’s exacting standards. After the structure is at Drywall stage Natalie takes over for all of the fun stuff! Feild loves interacting with our custom home clients chatting about the jobs, progress, and schedules. Feild also loves taking on our commercial and multi family projects. Over the years Feild and Natalie have managed full restaurant and bar gut outs and rehabs, white boxes on retail, full retail finish out including mechanicals, and large scale multi family remodels.

Jane Smith, Office Manager and Client Services

JANE SMITH

Jane is an essential part of the Patten Custom Homes family, and speaking of family, she happens to be Natalie’s mother and Feild’s Mother in Law! Prior to joining Patten Custom Homes, Jane worked for 17 years at Dallas-based oil & gas company, EXCO Resources. At EXCO, Jane was the executive assistant to the company’s CFO. Jane has extensive office management skills from working at a publicly traded company. Here at PCH, Jane works hard to get permits, scheduling utility cuts, cutting checks, helping with bookkeeping, obtaining estimates, and a myriad of other items too long to list! She is also who the clients are in contact with once they have the keys or have a warranty item. So whether you see or talk to Jane or not during the build, you will become familiar and get to know her after. She enjoys working for the family business and being around her four grandchildren. When she can get away, she enjoys travelling abroad, going to concerts(pre-covid) and movies at the theater.

JOSE CHAVEZ

Jose worked for Feild and Natalie for many years as a sub contractor, cornice/windows/decking/framing, prior to officially joining the PCH team as an employee. Each and every trade and client customer will interact with Jose during the build. Jose keeps every project on track by scheduling trades and materials on a daily basis. In addition, Jose works closely with our third party inspectors, and city inspectors, to make sure that each and every home is built properly, correctly, and beautifully. Jose always has a smile on his face even in the most challenging of circumstances. He is passionate about construction and strives to make each and every home exactly what our customers expect and deserve.
